For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder; and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace, of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his Kingdom, to order it, and establish it with judgement and with justice from henceforth even forever. The Zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform it.
The above quoted verses present to us the prophetic declaration of Isaiah concerning the Messiah (Jesus Christ). Isaiah, by the Spirit of God was able to clearly see the future, and the mission of Christ on earth. He also saw the kind of Kingdom Christ was to establish. However, what really caught my attention is the last phrase of the quotes “ The Zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform it”, in other words, the passionate desire or commitment of God will carry it out. It is important to mention that passion is critical to fulfilling a purpose and achieving a goal. A German poet and dramatist once said, nothing great in the world has ever been accomplished without passion.
Glory belongs to our God, who has made it possible for us to see another month- November.
Our teaching focus for this month is “That I may know him” taken from Philippians 3:10.
The Apostle Paul who made this statement in his letter to the Philippians did know Christ. He knew whom he had believed; he knew Him for himself, but his knowledge of Christ, though it was very great, it was imperfect. His knowledge of Him was in part, and therefore he desired to know more of Christ, of the mystery and glories of His person, of the unsearchable riches of his grace, of his great salvation, and the benefits of it, of his love, which passes perfect knowledge, and to have a renewed and enlarged experience of communion with Him.
Are you satisfied with your current knowledge of Christ? Do you know Him enough or you want to know Him more? Is there a thirst and hunger in your heart to know more of His love and grace?
Join us this month as we explore the life, ministry, principles, miracles, power and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
